Email verification for Mailchimp

Find the addresses that bounce before you send. Mailbite checks syntax, domain, mail server, disposable providers and the mailbox itself, without sending a message.

  • 100 free verifications every month
  • No plugin to install

Why verify in Mailchimp

Audiences fill up with typos, old mailboxes and imported lists. Clean the audience once and every send bounces less.

A Mailbite account and a CSV export from Mailchimp. The free plan covers 100 verifications a month, so you can test a sample first.

How it works with Mailchimp

  1. In Mailchimp open Audience, then All contacts, and choose Export Audience. Download the CSV when the export is ready.
  2. Upload the CSV to the bulk verifier and pick the email column.
  3. Download the results: valid, invalid and risky files.
  4. Back in Mailchimp choose Add contacts, then Import contacts, and upload the invalid file with the status Unsubscribed and the option to update existing contacts.
  5. Import the risky file the same way with a tag such as risky, and send to that tag in small batches first.

A tip: Keep the original export. You can compare it with the verified file if something looks wrong.

What the results mean

  • Valid: The mailbox exists. Send.
  • Invalid: The address cannot receive mail. Remove it.
  • Risky: Accepts mail but cannot be confirmed, for example a catch-all domain. Send in small batches and watch bounces.
  • Unknown: The server did not answer. Retry later.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Mailchimp plugin?

No, nothing to install. You export, verify and import, which takes a few minutes for most lists.

Should I delete the invalid contacts?

Unsubscribing keeps the history and stops sending. Delete only if you will never need the record.
